Women well-represented at write by the sea

The recent furore over the lack of women in the programme for this year’s Magill Summer School prompted us to have a look through our own programme for Write By The Sea. It turns out that out of the 44 contributors in our schedule, set out on this website, 21 are female.  This isn’t part of a specific, deliberate policy, but it simply reflects the fact that we at Write By The Sea are as aware of the wonderful women writers we have, just as we are happy to celebrate our great male writers too.
