Catherine Dunne

Winner of the 2018 Irish PEN Award for Contribution to Irish Literature, Catherine Dunne is the author of ten published novels. Her one work of non-fiction, An Unconsidered People,is a social history that explores the lives of Irish immigrants in London in the 1950’s.

Among her novels are: The Things We Know Now, which won the Giovanni Boccaccio International Prize for Fiction in 2013 and was shortlisted for Novel of the Year at the Irish Book Awards. The Years That Followed was published in 2016 and was longlisted for the International Dublin Literary Award.

Catherine’s latest novel, ‘The Way the Light Falls’ (Come Cade la Luce), has just been shortlisted for the European Strega Prize. The prize has been awarded annually since 2014 and the winner is to be announced at this year’s Turin Book Fair in May.

We are delighted to have Catherine Dunne coming on board for the 2019 Write By The Sea festival. Catherine will be hosting a creative writing workshop and will also be interviewed at this year’s festival.
