Dermot Bolger

One of Ireland’s best known writers, Dermot Bolger’s fourteen novels include The Journey Home, Tanglewood, and The Lonely Sea and Sky, based on a famous wartime rescue by a tiny Wexford ship, the M V Kerlogue. His numerous plays include an adaption of Joyce’s Ulysses, staged by the Abbey Theatre, who stage his new play, Last Orders at the Dockside this autumn.  His poetry collections include The Venice Suite: A Voyage Through Loss. He writes for all the Irish national newspapers and was named Commentator of the Year at the 2012 Irish Newspaper awards. He will be reading from his latest novel, An Ark of Light, based on the true story of Sheila Fitzgerald who spent the last decade of her extraordinary life living near the village of Kilmore.
