Kevin Rafter is the author/editor of more than a dozen books on media and politics in Ireland including Taoisigh and the Arts (2022). He is Full Professor of Political Communication at Dublin City University having previously worked as a senior political journalist. His contribution to Irish public life includes chairing national bodies and taskforces on civil service reform and broadcast regulation as well as facilitating government formation negotiations as an independent rapporteur. He has been a member of the board of the Galway International Arts Festival and Chair of Culture Ireland. He was appointed Chair of the Arts Council in 2019.
