Ben MacCaoilte is a bilingual poet writing and performing in both Irish and English. Since the release of his first poetry album ‘Beyond the Apple Tree’ in 2021 Ben has performed throughout the country at events including the International Writers Festival Dublin, So Say So Sessions curated by Stephen James Smith, the Ekphrasis Project at the Waterford Gallery of Art, REIC at Cork World Book Fest, and many more. Ben has also performed at festivals in the UK and Europe such as The Bath Festival and at the Centre Cultural Irlandais in Paris. In 2023 Ben performed his poetry performance piece Lifting the Gate as part of the Scene and Heard Festival at Smock Alley Dublin. In 2022 Ben released his second poetry album Lifting the Gate on the Crannóg Media label. Ben has had the pleasure to share the stage with Stephen James Smith, Declan O’Rourke, Emma Langford and Liam O’Maonlaí. Ben’s work is inspired by people,places and lives that mattered.
