Cat Hogan

Cat Hogan is an award-nominated Irish novelist and screenwriter. She published her debut novel, They All Fall Down, in 2016. This gripping work of fiction showcased Cat’s talent for crafting compelling narratives and complex characters. Following the success of her first novel, she published her second book, There Was A Crooked Man, in 2017. This novel was nominated for the Bord Gais Energy Crime Fiction of the Year. Cat is represented by David Higham Literary Agency. Her third novel is currently on submission, eagerly anticipated by her growing readership.

Cat holds an Honours Degree in Law, and is currently studying for a master’s degree in Criminology with the longer term goal of pursuing a PhD, where she can delve even deeper into the study of crime and contribute to the academic community. She’s a recipient of multiple awards and bursaries, including The Arts Council Literature Bursary, The Agility award, The John Hewitt Society Bursary Award and Writer in Residence for The Irish Writers Centre. She was appointed Cultural Ambassador for Wexford in 2020. She was awarded a residency at the University of Limerick Winter Writing School and continues to work with them. Her first two novels are in development for television.

Throughout her life, Cat has faced and overcome various challenges, each contributing to her growth and resilience. She has learned valuable lessons about perseverance, the importance of family, and the power of stories to connect and inspire. She lives by the sea with her boys, her cat and her bees.
