Stella Maris Centre

The hub of the Write By the Sea Festival is the Stella Maris Centre. Here you will find the check-in and information desk, festival exhibition,  refreshments and Room to Write as well as many of the festival programme events that are scheduled to take place here. Free WiFi is available. There is ample free parking adjoining the Centre.

Saltees Coast Hotel

Saltees Coast Hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the Stella Maris Centre. There is ample free parking in the hotel car park.

Lifeboat House

Just a five-minute walk from the Stella Maris Centre, head down the hill to the harbour, then go right at the roundabout. You will find the Lifeboat House on the left opposite the Silver Fox restaurant. There is no parking available outside the building.

St. Peter’s Church

St. Peter’s Church is a 4-minute walk from the Stella Maris Centre.

Harbour Office

Located in a commanding position in Kilmore Quay harbour, you will see the Harbour Office as you go down the hill from the Stella Maris towards the harbour. The Harbour Office is a five-minute walk from the Stella Maris Centre. Free parking is available in the adjacent car park.

Built in the late 1840s, Kilmore Quay harbour is one of the busiest fishing ports and marinas in the country.  It is also the embarkation point for sea angling trips, dive boats and excursions to the Saltee Islands.
