Video: Benjamin Wood
Benjamin Wood took to the stage of the Stella Maris Centre as part of our 2023 festival to deliver a lively, educational, and entertaining lecture on the role research plays in fiction writing.
Benjamin Wood is the author of four acclaimed novels: The Bellwether Revivals (2012), The Ecliptic (2015), A Station on the Path to Somewhere Better (2018), and, most recently, The Young Accomplice, which was selected as one of the Best Books of 2022 by The Times and Sunday Times, The Spectator, New Statesman and The Irish Times and was adapted for BBC Radio 4’s Book at Bedtime. Praised by Hilary Mantel as “a huge talent”, his work has been shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award, the Commonwealth Book Prize, the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award, the Encore Award, the CWA Gold Dagger Award, and the European Union Prize for Literature. He is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at King’s College London and lives in Surrey with his wife and sons.
We are delighted to be able to share a recording of his lecture.
