Breda Wall Ryan’s poetry is infused with her experiences of the natural world. She grew up in rural Co. Waterford and now lives close to the sea in Bray. Her themes include ecological and social justice issues and her awarded poetry has been widely published and translated in journals and anthologies In a Hare’s Eye (Doire Press) won the Shine/Strong Award for a First Collection, 2016. It was followed by Raven Mothers (Doire Press 2018. She was awarded a bursary and two-week residency from Achill Heinrich Böll Association in 2022 to work on her third collection.
