Michelle Dooley Mahon is an Author, Playwright, Cartoonist  and Photographer. Her debut Novel, the critically acclaimed  memoir  "Scourged" was commissioned for adaptation for theatre by Elizabeth Whyte of Wexford Arts Centre in 2017. Michelle wrote and performed "The Scourge" alone onstage in a One Woman Show directed by Ben Barnes. Her Premiere run of 10 nights was sold out

Michelle Dooley Mahon is an Author, Playwright, Cartoonist  and Photographer. Her debut Novel, the critically acclaimed  memoir  “Scourged” was commissioned for adaptation for theatre by Elizabeth Whyte of Wexford Arts Centre in 2017. Michelle wrote and performed “The Scourge” alone onstage in a One Woman Show directed by Ben Barnes. Her Premiere run of 10 nights was sold out and had standing ovations at every performance.  Her second run at Wexford Festival Fringe during the Opera Festival was the same.  She then took her play on tour around the country as part of the First Fortnight Festival and travelled to Dublin, Donegal, Waterford and Carlow where her performances were reviewed as 5* /BestInTheatre / Critical List / Festival Highlight / OneToWatch and critics in The Irish Times and Sunday Times wrote amazing reviews for a debut performer at 54.  Michelle outed herself as Bi-Polar on her blog and her struggles with mania, obesity, diabetes and grief were well documented in her 7 other One Woman Shows in Wexford, Dublin, Sweden and the Spiegeltent.  She was awarded the Dylan Thomas Literary Residency in Kultiviera /Tranás in 2014.  She is currently working on the sequel to Scourged, called “Walking the Light” and is writing her new One Woman Show called “Divilskin” following the receipt of an Arts Links Bursary from Wexford County Council. She has undertaken a MasterClass in direction with the legendary Lynn Parker. She lives alone in Wexford with her dogs.
