Announcing the Zoom Room to Write with Cat Hogan, Saturday, 18th July 10:00-12:00

Write by the Sea is delighted to welcome Cat Hogan to lead our next Zoom Room to Write workshop. In this two-hour online session, award nominated novelist and scriptwriter Cat will take you through three elements of the writing process and how to apply them in a practical and effective way to your own work. She will look at how to distil all those big ideas in your head down to a coherent story line, how you breathe life, colour and personality into your characters and finally, how to conduct research for your novel and why the grey areas between fact and fiction are the novelist’s playground.

This interactive and fun workshop will run for two hours. There will be lots of writing, tea and chats. The workshop is ideal for beginners and those who are wading through the early drafts of their first manuscript. All you need is pen, paper, tea, and enthusiasm!

About Cat Hogan

Cat is a seasoned facilitator and has worked with libraries, The University of Limerick, The Irish Writers Centre, the John Hewitt Society, and numerous literary festivals up and down the country. She curated the 2019 WWW Literary festival and is Writer in (their) Residence with the Irish Writers Centre. Her third novel is in the hands of her literary agents, Curtis Brown and should see the light of day very soon.  When Cat is not conjuring up characters and stories, she works in Adult Literacy and Further Education.
