Eleanor is a teacher of English and Classical Studies at The Community School in Gorey, Co. Wexford. She began writing six years ago, while on maternity leave. Since then Eleanor has won The Bonnier Twenty7 Open Submissions Award 2016; The RTE Francis McManus Radio Short Story Award 2015; The Writing 4 Autism Award

Eleanor has been shortlisted for numerous writing awards – Published finalist WoW Award 2014; Fish Short Story Award 2014, 2015; James Plunkett Literary Award 2013; Over the Edge New Emerging Writer 2013, 2014, 2015; In 2014, Eleanor started an MA Creative Writing at MMU and graduated in 2017. M for Mammy is her debut novel. Eleanor lives in Arklow, a small town on the East Coast of Ireland located between the Irish sea and the magnificent Wicklow hills, with her husband Brian Kelly, daughter Ella, and a whole menagerie of pets.
