Keeping the flame alive

Well, what a year it has been for the arts and for Write by the Sea Kilmore Quay. We are grateful to all those who helped us to keep the festival flame alight in 2020. Thanks to our writers and artists who joined us in our Zoom Room to Write to deliver memorable monthly masterclasses and workshops. Thanks to our competition entrants, winners and judges for making it possible to share wonderful memoirs, poems and short stories with a wider audience. Thanks to our sponsors and funders who helped us to stay buoyant in turbulent seas and who made it possible for us to turn our weekend festival into a year-round celebration of great reading and writing. Thanks to the festival volunteers and all who rose to the challenges that the Pandemic presented. And most of all, thanks to you, our participants and supporters. We have a programme of very exciting monthly events and a bumper Write by the Sea festival planned for 2021 – more more about that soon. For now we just want to say thank you everyone. We simply couldn’t have done it without you. Happy Christmas and every good wish for 2021, from the Write by the Sea crew.
