About Us
Write By The Sea is a boutique literary festival set in the charming fishing village of Kilmore Quay, Co Wexford. Overlooking the picturesque Saltee Islands, the inspirational setting of Kilmore Quay is also an appropriate location in which to celebrate the international achievements of Irish authors and to encourage new writing across all genres.
Write By The Sea produces a literary programme each year that includes a generous mix of talks, readings, interviews and workshops. The festival and our workshop series offer a platform for established and emerging authors to explore and explain the process of writing. The festival which takes place annually over the last weekend of September is organised by a voluntary committee. The committee members are Sasha Wilson (Chair), Jean Cullinane (Admin Sec.), Sylvia Kehoe (Treasurer), Lucy Moore, John Moran, Derek Burke, Elena Winch and Anne O’Brien.

Our mission is to foster a love of literature by staging an annual literary festival that brings Irish and international writers, storytellers and visual artists together to share their work and their insights, to nourish and motivate new writing, while the Kilmore Quay community works together to make Write By The Sea an unforgettable experience for all our visitors.

We aim to be recognised as a festival that offers value to our audience, fair fees to our facilitators and a warm Kilmore Quay community welcome to visitors as they enjoy the food, culture and beauty of our village.
