Linked to our Write By The Sea festival, Room to Write takes place in the Stella Maris Centre, Kilmore Quay on the second Saturday of every month. Every quarter we feature a guest facilitator and on the 14th of December 2019, acclaimed Wexford poet Margaret Galvin led a group of 30 eager writers in a series of creative exercises that smashed through even the most severe cases of writer’s block. Very early into the workshop, pens and brains engaged as poignant memories flooded onto participants’ pages. Margaret also provided a set of valuable Critiquing Guidelines to help participants assess their work in an objective way. Thanks Margaret for a great masterclass. You might be interested to know that Margaret’s latest collection “The Finer Points” has recently been published in association with Cahir Social and Historical Society. It’s a series of fascinating poems through which Margaret showcases timeless and universal themes by shining a light on the lives of the ordinary people of Co Tipperary.
